You Can't Think Your Way To Feeling Better
Thinking is only half of the equation.
We also have to FEEL in order to feel better. That means feeling what is uncomfortable, painful and frightening.
It's very possible - and my guess is likely - that you've built your entire life around avoiding feelings.
In the moment of feeling, the energy of the felt emotion leaves the physical body. This is what GENUINELY makes us feel better OVER THE LONG TERM. This process, practiced on a regular basis, brings TRUE INNER PEACE.
If you've experienced trauma in your life - whether it's emotional, physical, and/or sexual - you probably made a decision (subconsciously) at some point to not feel the emotions associated with that trauma.
Until you feel it, the energy of those emotions stays trapped in your physical body.
We all have a strong desire to address this discomfort by thinking it away. Talking about what happened, analyzing it, understanding it.... keeping our investigation safely in the mind.
These mind activities can and do help, but they are only one half of the equation. Without proper discernment, rationale thinking and mental analysis are great ways to avoid feeling, which is the other half of the equation.
When you are willing to take your investigation to the body, and to allow that emotional energy to leave (by feeling it), you are exercising the other half of the equation that most people want to avoid.
True healing occurs when we are willing to face and feel the emotions we are terrified of feeling. This is the path to emotional liberation and it requires every ounce of courage we can muster.
I have walked this path myself and can walk beside you on your own healing journey.
I will listen without judgment, hold space for your experience, and support you as you face the feelings you are most frightened of.
When you are ready, I'm here.
